It is a common thing to see football fans spending their time and money on football collectables and truly value them to their hearts. To them, it’s a matter of personal value and love for their home-town team or favourite player.

Collecting football collectables may be fun and socialising in the sense, fans will try to hunt for the collectables that they so want to have- something regarded to their favourite player, for instance- and it may initiate exchanges of collectables that could lead to fans becoming friends with people with the same interests, etc.

Football collectables come in many form. It could be ticket stubs from all the games one has been to, bobble head dolls of the favourite player, posters, statues, articles about the favourite team or player , pennants, or football cards – the most popular football collectible. There are endless possibilities and ideas of a token of your favourite football team, player, stadium, or anything associated with football. A type of fan that would have it all- a whole room devoted to their favourite team or player- will be the hard core collectors. These fans have an endless amount of items to collect, either inexpensive or costly – these fans are those who are willing to spend huge amount of money on a rare football collectable. 

Each of the collectables has its own characteristics that would suit the leisure pursuit of a football lover. Football cards, like baseball cards, are inexpensive, but their value increases with time. Kids would love them, because they’re cheap and they can be shared or traded with friends. Loyal fans, on the other hand, usually have a favourite player or a team. They would collect anything associated with the team or the player, anything the player graces his name on. These fans have their entire wall full of pictures, articles, posters, and etc.

The form of collectible any loyal fan should have is their favourite teams’ pennant. This banner is the most popular form of souvenir sold at games or the NFL teams’ souvenir shops. The source of finding these collectables is endless too; from an online auction to a local football shop.
