Football is a very popular game played in the United States.  It is easily confused with European Football.  The difference with American and European football is that European football is also known as soccer.  Soccer of course is where you use your feet to control the ball and American football is where you use your hands to control the game and the ball.  In America, there are college ball games and major league ball games or the National Football League. 

The NFL or National Football League played other teams across America for the Super Bowl Championship Title. In college ball, they complete with schools that are located throughout the States and they play for Bowl titles.  The game of it all is the Rose Bowl.  Every school wants to take home the title of being Rose Bowl champs, but even if they don't make it to the Rose Bowl, there are many other important games like the Orange Bowl or Cotton Bowl.

They major college Bowls are played all over the South.  Football may be a very aggressive game that can injury many people, but going pro has its perks.  Just like other sports, professional players get paid millions in dollars to play for the their team per season.  Many athletes sign two-year contacts stating their commitment and willingness to play for their team for two years.

Those who are not familiar with the game, the game are very complicated. The basics of the game are to get the ball over the other team's goal line and points are distributed.  The team has four quarters to try to get as many points as possible.  If a team does make it to the goal line, they are awarded six points.  Then they have the chance to get a field goal, by kicking the ball through two posts.  If a field goal is considered fair, they will receive an extra point.  Because players are allowed to tackle each other for the ball, they have to wear protective gear.  During a football game, many penalties or fouls are called that can delay the game.  Each time also has the right to call time outs.  Because of all the times the game is stopped a football game can last two to three hours.
