Football gambling is realy popular, especially if it is important game like the Super Bowl.  Betting on games has been around since the early 1900's and several players have been banned from the sport because of it. When it comes to betting or gambling on games, it is only legal to place a bet if the place has a gambling license.  Work places that allow their employees to have pools are legally not aloud, because they don't have a license to gamble.  When it comes to the players gambling, it is unethical.  It is unethical for players to place bets, especially against the team. If a player would place a bet against their team, they would be considered a disgrace and might be legally held to throwing the game.

When there is money involved, you can bet that the government will invade.  In addition, many sport associations like baseball, basketball, and football look at coaches and team members to dishonoring their league and can even be forced to quit the league or be banned.  As known with some baseball players and coaches, they were even thrown out of the hall of fame because one little bet disgraced the league.

Places like Las Vegas, the MGM Grand will take bets on sports events.  This is legal because they have a gambling license. However, when it comes to gambling in sports it comes down to ethics.  When you take a game like the Super Bowl, you push it up with bets, and sides are taken, it takes the fun out of the game.  People don't just bet on pro games, but betting on college games are very frequent.  Betting or gambling is known to be in every sport.  The moral of it all is that it takes away the wholesome fun of the game.  Professional games really don't have a winner or a loser because they still get paid to play.  Why make the game have a winner and a loser?  When gambling it's not the team that loses, it's the gambler because they didn't offer anything in the game to lose.

Gambling in general is pointless. Everyone needs to learn that gambling is not a way to make money quick, but to lose money quick.  There are no scams that work when it comes to making money quick.  In football, the betting is said to enhance the game, but if you have to lose money to enjoy something, what's the point?
